Hike for Kids – Rice Lake Loop

Posted on: October 8th, 2010 by moojoes

Lynn Headwaters – Rice Lake Loop (Easy)

Another great hike with little kids is Rice Lake Loop also located in Lynn Headwaters Park.  This hike is about 3 km in total, is easy and stroller friendly. No dogs are permitted in this area of the park. If taking a stroller then start off at the Seymour Demonstration Forest. To get there follow Lilliooet Road all the way to the end. Start walking and follow the signs for Rice Lake Loop.

If not taking a stroller then an other way to start off is by going into Lynn Headwaters Park. Park in any of the 3 parking lots and follow the signs for Varley trail. At some point you come out at a dirt road, go straight and turn left on the bridge. After a short climb on a wide path you’ll find a gazebo. Continue to follow the signs for Rice Lake (this will take you to the Lynn Headwaters Connector). Follow Rice Lake around until you get back onto the Lynn Headwaters connector and make your way back. Rice Lake hike is also suitable for kids 3 years and older. There are some benches and viewpoints and lots to see. It’s a great adventure for the little ones.
